Closed Saturday & Sunday Kayak tour involves a 1 hr. to 1 1/2 hour paddle each way approx 30 min hike Client should be in adequate cardio health "Da Kine" Tour: Paddle the majestic Wailua River, original home to the first Hawaiians who came from the Marquesas Islands to Kauai almost 1500 years ago. Hear the legends and learn about the flora and fauna of Kauai's most sacred area. After paddling past numerous Heiaus (sacred shrines), view ancient Kamokila Village, the sight made famous in the jungle scene of the film Outbreak. Heading up the north fork of the river, paddle leisurely through one of Kauai's most beautiful jungle rivers until you come to the trailhead for the hike to enchanting Secret Falls, an 80-foot fall that descends into a refreshing swimming hole.. Enjoy the Wailua with the safety and expertise of Kauai Guides. Monday through Friday 8:45 (when the 8:45 am tour fils up they will open a 7:45 am tour) Location: 4-484 Kuhio Hwy, K41, Kapaa, HI 96746 What to bring: Lunch or snacks, reusable water bottle, hiking sandals (Tevas) or closed toes shoes or water shoes, towel, swimsuit (under clothes), sun screen, sun glasses, hat. Participants may want to have a change of clothes in the van Lunch: NOT INCLUDED - due to the length of the tour it is recommended that guests pack a lunch or snacks - individual coolers will be provided for each family. Please bring a reusable water bottle. Fitlerted water is provided but they do not provide bottles. Please note: The kayak tour involves an hour to hour and a half paddle each way. The tour involves a hike of approx. 30 minutes each way. The tour is suitable for beginners but you must not have any physical conditions that would keep you from being able to paddle and hike. You should be in adequate cardio-vascular health and be able to handle the physical requirements of a moderate paddle and hike. There is an absolute maximum weight limit of 240/individual and 450/couple. There are no refunds for clients who show up and exceed the weight limitations or for clients who are not in adequate physical condition to participate in the tour. You should have no physical conditions that affect your ability to paddle (shoulder/arm injury or condition for example) or their ability to walk/hike along a minimally challenging trail with uneven surface and small obstacles (any lower body condition affecting your ability to walk or any condition affecting balance.) Pregnant women should not participate in this activity unless in the first trimester and with their doctor's approval. No Children under 5 or older children who cannot handle the hike on their own. Participants should be somewhat comfortable with being on the river and around water and not have an extreme fear of such conditions. Participants must have water friendly hiking foot wear with them Please do not bring a camera that you do not want getting wet - expensive cameras are not recommended for this tour. Participants must understand that the hiking trail conditions can be extremely muddy and you must be prepared for that scenario. If the trip goes, there are no refunds for clients who back out because of weather conditions. If the trip is cancelled by the tour operator, the participant will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule if space is available.
